Miloslav Vrba

Miloslav Vrba graduated from the Brno Conservatory under Professor Rudolf Šťastný from 1985 to 1991. In 1989, he participated in international masterclasses in Piešťany led by Eduard Grač. He completed his studies at the Janáček Academy of Music and Performing Arts in Brno in 1995, studying under Rudolf Šťastný and Bohumil Kotmel Sr.

In 1993, he broadened his horizons with an internship led by Alexander Kramarov at the University of Enschede in the Netherlands. From 1990 to 1991, he was a member of the international Gustav Mahler Youth Orchestra. Subsequently, he became a founding member of two orchestras: the chamber orchestra Giovanni Virtuosi da Camera, and later the New Czech Chamber Orchestra, which eventually evolved into the Prague Philharmonia, where he continues to perform to this day. Since 1994, he has held the position of Deputy Concertmaster.

Miloslav Vrba has successfully participated in numerous prestigious competitions. In 1991, he won 1st prize for his interpretation of L. van Beethoven at the Beethoven's Hradec competition. Three years later, he received 2nd prize at the Leoš Janáček International Competition in Brno. In addition to his orchestral work, he is dedicated to solo and chamber music performances. Since 2018, he has been teaching at the Klapkova Elementary School of Arts in Prague. He has made numerous recordings, particularly for Czech Radio, including Janáček's Violin Sonata, Brahms' Sonata in A major, Beethoven's Sonata No. 5 "Spring," and works by Antonín Dvořák and Jiří Matys.
