What is Talent of Prague 5?
It's your opportunity to shine! This competition celebrates young amateur musicians passionate about quality music. Top performers get the chance to showcase their skills with a renowned professional orchestra. We welcome classical instrumentalists and musical theatre singers.

Winners' Gala Concert: March 13, 2025, at the prestigious Bohuslav Martinů Hall, Academy of Performing Arts in Prague
Who can join?
Are you ready to showcase your musical prowess? You're eligible if:
- You're a student at a music school or with a private music teacher in Prague 5, 13, or 16.
- You live, study, or work in Prague 5, 13, or 16 - even if your music school or teacher is elsewhere.
- You're not from Prague 5, 13, or 16, but you're actively involved in local music groups.
- You want to team up! Duets or larger ensembles are welcome to perform pieces with orchestral accompaniment.
Age limit: 26 years (as of the audition date)
Note: Previous grand champions can return after a 3-year break.
Categories
Category I:
Contestants up to 15 years old
Category II:
Contestants from 15 to 26 years old
Category III:
Students of music conservatories, other higher vocational music schools, or university-level music schools in the special "Exceptional Talent" category.

Complete the application form (parents, legal guardians, or music school directors can do this for you).

Important Details:
- Each music school can enter up to four students (no limits on instruments or vocal categories; doesn't apply to choirs).
- Prepare your best:
- Instrumentalists: 1-2 movements from a concerto or concert pieces
- Vocalists: 1-2 arias
- Choirs: A piece with orchestral accompaniment
- Your chosen piece must fit our repertoire guidelines (see below).
Repertoire guidelines
Choose your piece wisely! Your selected composition should fit within the Prague Philharmonia's orchestra size:
- Strings: 8 first violins, 6 second violins, 5 violas, 4 cellos, 2 double basses
- Woodwinds: 2 flutes, 2 oboes, 2 clarinets, 2 bassoons
- Brass: 4 French horns, 2 trumpets, 1 trombone
- Percussion: Timpani
Performance Duration: Aim for 5-10 minutes (e.g., one movement of a concerto)
Special Consideration: The jury chairman may grant exceptions to these rules in special cases.
