Rock voice meets a classical orchestra
David Koller will perform his legendary songs during a special set with the Prague Philharmonia!
Thanks to its long-term partnership with Komerční banka, the Prague Philharmonia returns to Rock for People regularly. After collaborating with Vypsana fiXa, Clarinet Factory and its own Prague Philharmonia Cover Band, this year the orchestra has prepared an ambitious project.
David Koller has put together a special programme consisting of the greatest hits from his solo career and the band Lucie, which will be performed in original symphonic arrangements.
“David Koller is an extremely creative person and has devoted maximum effort to preparing the concert’s dramaturgy,” says Prague Philharmonia clarinetist and project organiser Jindřich Pavliš. The arrangements were tailor-made for the orchestra and were written by leading Czech and Slovak composers – Michal Nejtek, Tono Popovič, Roman Pallas and Jakub Zítko.
The conducting baton will be taken by the young talented conductor Petr Sedlák, a graduate of the Royal College of Music in London.
David Koller is one of the most outstanding figures of Czech music. He rose to fame as the leader of the band Lucie, in which he was active from 1987 until 2024. In addition, he has a successful solo career, which he began in 1993. He has collaborated with many personalities of the Czech music scene and in 2024 he released a Best of album, which summarizes his work across the bands Jasná Páka, Lucie and solo projects.
