An Unforgettable Concert: Viola d'amore and Mozart Resonate in Prague
On Monday, May 5th, the highly anticipated replacement concert, originally postponed from January, took place at Prague's historical House for Professed.
The evening was dedicated to the rare and lyrical sound of the viola d'amore, masterfully played by Dagmar Mašková. Together with Hana Kubisová and Dominika Weiss Hošková, they presented compositions by Marin Marais, Joseph Haydn, and Carl Stamitz in the first half of the program, recalling the popularity of this fascinating instrument, especially in the late 17th century.
After the interval, the hall was filled with Mozart's extensive and interpretatively demanding Divertimento for string trio in E flat major, K 563, to which our trio lent a profound and unforgettable interpretation. The packed hall rewarded the artists' performances and the beautifully curated program with truly stormy applause, which is always the greatest reward for us. Thank you to everyone who shared this exceptional evening with us!
