Prague Philharmonia Begins Autumn Tour of Asia

On Saturday, October 4th, we will commence an extensive autumn tour of Asia with a concert in Takamatsu, the capital of Kagawa Prefecture. Over the course of ten concerts, we will offer the best of the Czech and world symphonic repertoire to audiences in Takamatsu, Osaka, Tokyo, Nagoya, Yokohama, Hamamatsu, Tochigi, and finally in Bangkok, Thailand, where we will perform as part of the prestigious Bangkok's International Festival of Dance and Music.

Under the baton of conductor Leoš Svárovský, renowned works by Antonín Dvořák, Bedřich Smetana, Sergei Rachmaninoff, and Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky will be performed. The soloists for the tour are leading Japanese artists: cellist Dai Miyata and pianist Kanon Matsuda. In the Thai capital, we will be joined by American pianist George Li.

We last performed in Asia in 2021 in Japan and in 2022 in Taiwan. We are all the more pleased that we can reconnect through music across distances and cultural differences, and share the Czech musical heritage with an audience that not only loves classical music but also deeply respects mastery itself. It is for this reason that they can appreciate the artistic level of our players with great sensitivity. We also cherish our friends and patrons who have embarked on this Asian journey with us.
