Fifth Chamber Evening: Emotion, Folklore Inspiration, and Thunderous Applause

The fifth concert of our Chamber Series K confirmed that this season's leitmotif—combining folklore inspirations with the anniversaries of Robert Schumann and Dmitri Shostakovich—resonates deeply with our audience.

The completely sold-out Baroque Refectory of the Professional House MFF UK witnessed an extraordinary musical dialogue. The first half of the evening belonged to Schumann's warmth and the raw intimacy of Leoš Janáček's String Quartet No. 1.

The atmosphere reached its peak in the second part thanks to our distinguished guests: cellist Juraj Škoda, together with our concertmaster Pavla Tesařová, brilliantly performed Kodály's Duo Op. 7, and the evening concluded with a riveting performance of Dmitri Shostakovich's Piano Quintet in G minor, accompanied by pianist Marek Kozák.

Thank you for the incredible atmosphere and the thunderous applause, which was the greatest reward for all the performers.
