Milan Knížák Has Passed Away

Prague Philharmonia has received with deep sorrow the news of the passing of Professor Milan Knížák. We extend our heartfelt condolences especially to Mrs. Marie Knížáková and to all of his family and loved ones.

Professor Milan Knížák had accepted dramaturge Hana Dohnálková’s invitation to take part in one of the concerts of Prague Philharmonia’s contemporary music series during the upcoming 2026/2027 season. The concert, scheduled for 23 March 2027, will take place as planned. It will, of course, be dedicated to the memory of Milan Knížák and will feature the originally conceived programme, showcasing his remarkable, distinctive, and richly colourful music.

We are certain that, through his enduring creative spirit, the composer himself will be with us from afar.

Professor, thank you.
