Romana Špačková

Romana Špačková completed her studies at the Brno Conservatory under Professor Bohumil Kotmel, followed by the Prague Academy of Performing Arts in Professor Václav Snítil's class. She concluded her studies with a solo recital and a performance of Shostakovich's Violin Concerto with the Bohuslav Martinů Philharmonic. In 2002, she expanded her musical education in Australia, studying under Professor Jan Šedivka, and earned a Master of Music degree. During this time, she also gave numerous concert recitals for Australian audiences.

Špačková returned to Australia from 2004 to 2005 as a faculty member at the Hobart Conservatorium, where she both taught and performed with orchestras and in recitals. Her notable performances include a concert in Algiers, featuring Beethoven's Triple Concerto with the local symphony orchestra, and a performance with the Prague Symphony Orchestra conducted by Maxim Shostakovich. In August 2005, she concluded the Prague Music Festival, performing with the Janáček Philharmonic Ostrava under the direction of American conductor Theodore Kuchar.

A member of the Prague Philharmonia since 1998, Špačková has served as its concertmaster since 2004. In 2006, she joined the Czech Nonet, one of the world's oldest chamber ensembles, as a member and artistic director. This ensemble once included her former professor, violinist Václav Snítil. With the Czech Nonet, Romana Špačková performs extensively, both in the Czech Republic and internationally, including concerts in Germany, Austria, France, Spain, and the United States.
