The concert commemorates Emmy Destinn's famous Berlin period, when her star rose on the stage of the Court Opera and the talented young singer transformed into an artist of global significance. The program features arias she sang during her rise to the peak of her career, interspersed with readings from the book Emmy Destinn 1, mapping her journey from childhood to international acclaim.

A new generation of Czech singers will meet on one stage—artists who, much like Emmy Destinn before them, represent Czech art at prestigious venues abroad. The concert features sopranos Zuzana Marková, Eliška Weissová, and Vanda Šípová, and countertenor Vojtěch Pelka. The Prague Philharmonia will be led by conductor Paolo Gatto.

The evening will be hosted by Jiří Vejvoda. Excerpts from the new book by Lucie Klein Svoboda will be read by actor Martin Hofmann. A symbolic bridge between the past and present is the fact that Destinnová herself sang for home audiences right here in the Rudolfinum.

(Please note: The narration and readings will be presented in Czech.)
